Giving me almost infinite colour options to illuminate the mouse, and also being surprisingly easy to use, this is a real selling point for this product.Ĭompared to the Razer Spectre mouse I have been using (and loving) this beast seemed massive. The World of Warcraft Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse by SteelSeries and Blizzard Entertainment features advanced 2.4GHz wireless technology, a beautifully crafted charging stand and the ability to go both wired or wireless for endless adventures. Luckily, I really like the look of the software – so red and black and flamey. After a fairly nifty installation it’s onto some customisation. Smart ethical move, good for the environment, you say. #Steelseries wow mouse not connecting driversI was a little shocked to find no literature in the massive box just a leaflet with direction to the Steelseries website to download the latest drivers and firmware. yes very big, which should have prepared me for the sheer scale of the monster that lay inside. I will probably continue using the in-game mapping anyway as this seems more intuitive than the software – but nice to know that the software isn’t broken so I can use that method if desired.WoW your friends? Steelseries' Cataclysm mouseįirst out the bag is the World of Warcraft Cataclysm MMO gaming mouse, the box looks like something from the auction house of Gnomeregan, all fatty fatty and burnished steel, a steampunk fantasy. I also tested the software mapping in notepad as they suggested & all worked OK. ![]() I was presuming that any changes made in the software would reflect in the in-game button mapping and vice-versa (ie that any mapping done from within WoW would display in the software interface). Steelseries replied to my ticket - disabling the “Enable in-game mode” option did the trick – I didn’t realise that the “Enable in-game mode” is mutually exclusive of the Steelseries software. I have an open ticket with Steelseries at the moment - 7 days ago & am still waiting for a reply to reolve this issue. I can modify other setting tho - eg the pulsing light & tracking speed. My guess is that this has something to do with the gold plating on the Cataclysm mouse's USB connector. I have to unplug and then replug them in the USB port to get them to be recognized. Second, both mice I've had don't want to be recognized at boot up. Thank God the mouse ate the charge and it didn't reach my MOBO. I would love to know if it’s a current issue or it’s just. It’s not the mouse, it’s currently working fine in Retail - I can clear and set these mouse buttons no problem. The same setup in Classic and it does not recognize the extra buttons. Last week, I walked to my computer across carpet, reached for this mouse, and static electricity discharged from my finger to the mouse, killing it. In retail, I use the bartender4 and it’s keybinding to set the buttons to specific spots on my action bar. First, it is highly (as in HIGHLY) susceptible to static discharge. ![]() There are some issues with this mouse (I'm on my second one). Remember, that you have to click the "Apply" button to save your changes, but the software should warn you that you haven't done that if you try to exit the program before doing so. If those work and yours don't you have isolated part of the issue. the mouse ships with default key bindings that you should check first. Not sure why your key bindings won't work but. #Steelseries wow mouse not connecting updateA driver update was released 27 DEC 10 that should fix the WoW character profile issue, which was caused when Blizzard changed the web address of the armory. ![]()
